LifeSkills training and education offers workshops that will provide the skills and tools to help
enhance personal growth, communication, and education for Marines, Sailors, and their families.
Communication, leadership, personal development, and professional growth are important to all
Marines and their loved ones. LifeSkills courses serve to meet our community’s need for intellectual
stimulation and self-improvement by offering a variety of training options.

Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (P.R.E.P.)

Learn the strategies that will help any couple build a wonderful relationship!
PREP offers education for couples through research-examined methods of active communication, respectful conflict resolution and binding commitment skills.Couples work towards marital satisfaction through enthusiastic involvement in discussion-centered activities. Whether you're engaged, newlyweds or married 20 years, this Marriage Enrichment Workshop is for you! For everyone wanting to be understood, here's a simple, yet effective tool to bring insight and closeness to your relationship.

PREP is not therapy and is probably unlike anything to which you have been exposed. No "encounter" group or sharing of personal concerns, no dry psychobabble... simply thrilling insights into a more loving, growth-filled relationship!

Family Care Plan

This course will educate Marines and their families on the basics of a Family Care Plan. It will outline the importance of a Family Care Plan, and the importance of always having it updated.

Casualty Notification Process – Scared of “The Call”? The Casualty Process De-Mystified

This workshop will help minimize stress and confusion by providing a brief overview on the casualty process, the role of the Casualty Assistance Calls Officer (CACO), and information on benefits, support services and organizations. It will help you understand the definition of a “casualty” as it refers to the Marine Corps, and discusses the casualty notification process for all casualties.

Safe and Sound at Home

This module provides important safety precautions for Marine Corps families, and instills spouses/family members with the ability and confidence to be responsible for their personal safety and the safety of their families while their Marines are deployed.

Basic Anger Management

This workshop is a basic overview of anger management. It provides education on the dynamics of anger and offers a variety of acceptable coping strategies to handle angry feelings and behaviors.

Four Lenses

This fun, interactive workshop will help assess and evaluate individual’s personality preference while learning to value and understand the personality preferences of those around them. Participants learn how to open the lines of communication, reduce personal misunderstandings, and strengthen their relationships, both personally and professionally. Completing this workshop and implementing the tools into daily life will empower participants to improve aspects of every relationship in their lives.

Social Networking Safety

This workshop addresses the dangers and risks, as well as positive outcomes, associated with social networking. The workshop also provides Marines and their families with information on how to protect themselves and family members, and ways to stay safe while on the internet and on social networking sites.

Say What?

This class educates Service Members and their families about effective communication in ther personal and professional lives. It addresses the power and benefits of listening, active listening techniques, how to have more effective conversations, etiquette for communicating via email and telephone, and communication across the generations.

Ready, Set, Prepare

Preparation is key to overcoming, and sometimes surviving, natural disasters and hazards. Every duty station presents the possibility for natural disasters. This class gives participants insight into how to plan and prepare for the unexpected while keeping familes as safe as possible.
